December 22nd will my anniversary

Posted by Blackrhinoranger - July 17th, 2019

Here's an announcement. On December 22nd 2009, that's when I made may first flash animated cartoon for Newgrounds. Go here to see it:

Admittingly, it wasn't the best I have done but keep in mind, back then, I was an immature bratty teenage who didn't know better. Over the years, I gotten better with my animations, recording and other things.

On December 22nd this year, it will be 10 years since I made that animation and I'm thinking of making an animation with other characters to reenact some of my past animations. I either update to try and make them better or make them worse...intentionally.

Here a challenge for you. Choose the most bad/boring/cringy video I made on Newgrounds, one for each year from 2009 to 2018 so I can remake scenes from those animations and see if they will come off as better or worse for December 22nd.

2017: https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/702496

2018: https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/723645

Deadline will be in October 22nd. Pick 10 of what you think are the worst animations I have ever done on Newgrounds. Don't be afraid to choose the ones you like as well.

Almost 10 years ago since you signed up on a training site for school shooters, I bet your parents are F*CKING proud of u

Was that sarcasm?

IDK how long I've been following you, but it's been more than a few years. While I might not consider your subject matter to be very adult oriented, I DO appreciate how you do it: excellent animation and production values.

You've done over 100 NG movie submissions... I think it's a bit of a stretch to ask the public to pick 10 of the worst. If nothing else, maybe if you took a look at the lowest scoring ones from the past 3-4 years, and went from there

I just wanna poke fun at some of the stuff I've made in the past. I'm also not proud of some of my works and I thought maybe there are some scenes I can fix. Some people aren't proud of their earlier works. Take Walt Disney for example, he did not like his take on King Midas and the Golden Touch and he forbade his employees to ever talk about it. Chuck Jones also regreted some of his earlier works like Elmer's Candid Camera. He had this to say:

"In this cartoon we find Bugs stumbling, fumbling, and mumbling around, vainly seeking a personality on which to hang him dialogue and action, or— in better words than mine—"walking around with his umbilical in his hand, looking for some place to plug it in." It is obvious when one views this cartoon, which I recommend only if you are going to die of ennui, that my conception of timing and dialogue was formed by watching the action in the La Brea tar pits. It would be complimentary to call it sluggish. Not only Bugs suffered at my hands, but difficult as it is to make an unassertive character like Elmer Fudd into a flat, complete schmuck, I managed.

Perhaps the kindest thing to say about Elmer's Candid Camera is that it taught everyone what not to do and how not to do it."

And there are some stuff I wasn't pleased with and I thought maybe I can go back to them and fix up what went wrong with them and try and make them better.

Makes sense. You did jump into submitting content pretty quickly, and it did seem to take about a year or so before things smoothed out. In my own experience, I did a lot of experimental stuff just to learn the ropes, but there wasn't much of an outlet to show it off, other than VHS videotapes shown to friends.
